Dr. Caitlin Ryan of the Family Acceptance Project will be discussing her award-winning LGBT research at Utah State University on 4/8/2015 (on preventing LGBT youth suicides). She will also be screening her award-winning film about an LDS family who has grown to love and accept their gay son. Wendy Williams Montgomery (from this family) will be attending and co-presenting as well.
Lisa Diamond will discuss sexual fluidity as it relates to bisexual women and men. In 2008, Diamond wrote a book about how flexible sexuality is for women. These days, she’s learning men are, as she puts it, “pretty darn sexually fluid, too.” Her studies have shown that spectrum of human sexuality is quite complex. She recently spoke with Doug Fabrizio on Radio West. A podcast of this show can be downloaded at http://radiowest.kuer.org/
Dr. Lisa Diamond is a Professor of Psychology and Gender Studies at University of Utah. Her research focuses on two distinct but related areas — the nature and development of affectional bonds and the nature and development of same-sex sexuality. In 2008, she published a groundbreaking study, Sexual Fluidity: Understanding Women’s Love and Desire. Diamond received her Ph.D., in 1999 from Cornell University.
